Gillian Sandstrom

Gillian Sandstrom has made her living researching, teaching and learning about the science of kindness and talking to strangers.

She’s Associate Professor in the Psychology of Kindness at the University of Sussex, and author of Once Upon a Stranger: The Science of How ‘Small’ Talk Can Add Up To a Big Life. Her research on minimal social interactions with strangers has been featured in major publications including The Guardian, The Times, The New York Times and major podcases and radio shows.
