Thermo Fluid Mechanics Research Centre (TFMRC)

Hearing its name, you might not know what the Thermo Fluid Mechanics Research Centre (TFMRC) does. But if you’ve ever flown on a plane or driven in an electric car, you’ve been affected by just some of the things that Professor Peter Fussey and his team research.

In this HOUR you’ll get a visit to the TFMRC lab – hearing from the people who are working on making technology better – whether it’s planes, cars or air conditioning units!

You’ll get a look at the large test cells that have been used to understand the detailed air flows within gas turbines, as well as hearing about some of the other project labs that are working on technologies related to thermal systems and fluid mechanics, applied to sustainability and Net Zero CO2 emissions.

PS – There are 100 steps up to the TFMRC labs.
