What if…there weren’t any journalists?

-

Clive will be reflecting on how his upbringing in Bolton shaped his perspective and fuelled his drive to tell the world’s stories.  Central to his story is his mother’s resilience – a qualified teacher whose skills were dismissed when she arrived in Britain – and the quiet sacrifices of migrants like her.

He will talk about his life, his work and why journalism is, and will always be, so important. This is particularly true when it comes to reporting on conflicts. When journalists aren’t allowed into war zones, it creates an information vacuum that both sides try to exploit. How can we determine the truth?
